Taran is turning ONE!!

My sweet baby girl is turning ONE!  Where has the time gone? She has brought so much joy and laughter to our little family. Taran has always been “nosy,” even from birth. After she was born she kept her eyes open for well over two hours just looking around and taking it in. A year later, she is still like that, so afraid that she might miss something!

Taran has such a sweet temperament - always smiling, giggling, and just babbling about something. Even though she is tiny (at the time of her birthday she will fully be transitioned into 6-9 month clothing and size 3 diapers) she holds her own.  Right now her three favorite words to say is daddy, doggy, and “ishy,” (fishy) everything is one of those. I can dream all I want that she will say mama on a regular basis….lol!

I want to thank my daughter for making me a better person. She has taught me so much. God has truly blessed Collin and I. We look forward to teaching her about Jesus and what a special place He has in our lives.

Front Door Decor

Front Door Decor -

So this craft project started with a plan wooden "G" and after some searching on Pinterest and my house this is what I came up with!!

Total cost - $ 4.00

Wooden letter - $1
Fence - $1
Elmer glue - $2

Have I mentioned that I love cute things that are cheap!

I already had the buttons, scrap paper, and fancy twig! Plus I made my own mod-podge! Equal parts Elmer's glue and water with a little shaking involved!

I mod-podged the paper and then buttons onto the wooden letter, then hot glued it to the wooden fence and added the pretty twigs!

It's hung on a small 3M hook.

Hope this inspires you to create something great!!

Jesus Calling

Over the weekend I finally spent a gift card that I had been holding onto since my wedding (almost 4 years ago).  It was from a Christian bookstore that was not close to home but since Collin, Taran, Jewlz, Zena, and I spent the night at The Gruver’s house Friday night (my in-law’s) it was super close to their house.

With only spending $1 over my gift card I bought a few books – God made Puppies, Thank You Lord, and Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. The first two were for Taran – she LOVES books and of course with being the dog loving people that we are I had to get “God made Puppies.”

But most of all I’m excited to dive into Sarah Young’s 365 Day Devotional called Jesus Calling. Its entirety is all about enjoying peace in His presence. She has been given a true gift with the ability to write. If you need a new devotional or just something that is uplifting and reassuring this is a great book!
